How To Beat The Heat in Islamorada
If you’re here on a summer holiday when the sun is strong, or are booking for the future, it’s always useful to have some insider tips on how to beat the heat in Islamorada. With our local recommendations, the island becomes pure bliss even in the strongest sun.
Stay With The Islander Resort
Our lush resort property on Islamorada is a great place to beat the heat. In addition to our guest amenities like high-powered A/C throughout the hotel, we also have over 24 acres of direct oceanfront property, so a refreshing soak is never more than a short walk away. On top of that, our property is also home to a saltwater pool, a freshwater pool, splash pad, private cabanas, and on-site watersports.
Spend the Day Here
You can now experience the Islander Resort for the day. We offer Resort Day Passes, resident day passes, and beach cabana passes available for purchase. Each day pass comes with a number of amenities, some of which include: access to both pools, poolside service with food and drinks available for purchase from Tides Beachside Bar & Grill, beach access, towel service, complimentary paddleboards, kayaks, bikes, and more!
Cool Down with a Drink on Islamorada
Every day of the week, Islander Resort guests can find a drink and something to eat onsite at Elements Lounge & Restaurant. You can cool down with a beer, or one of Elements’ signature cocktails — we recommend the Islander Fresh Melon Sipper — and even stay for a bite if you’re hungry. Elements is open for breakfast daily with coffee, mimosas, omelets, and more. And Tuesday through Saturday, Elements serves fantastic dinners with local specialties like Florida lobster dumplings and fried conch strips.
If you’re looking to explore beyond the hotel, Lorelei Restaurant & Cabana Bar is a roadhouse-style seafood place with live music and gorgeous views of the water, especially at sunset. Its daily happy hour features plenty of cocktails and beers to cool down with. You can also find a breeze and a drink at SandBar’s ocean-view deck, and check out The Whistle Stop Pub for some cold beer and billiards inside.
Hit The Beach
Islamorada has a few great beaches where you can go suntan before cooling off in the blue waters surrounding. Anne’s Beach features a nice swim area with shallow waters ideal for families with young children and anyone looking to have a lazy soak. Plan an excursion to Indian Key Historic State Park, where you can kayak and explore the local seagrass flats, or Lignumvitae Key Botanical State Park, which features a self-guided tour of historic buildings and the native hardwood hammock forest.
Plan Ahead
To enjoy endless sun and sea, great restaurants, and a gorgeous jumping-off point to explore the rest of the Keys, reserve your stay at Islander Resort. We have Special Offers and Packages to suit a variety of paradise dreams!
